When I think of fine art photography, black and white come to mind first.
I like to work in black and white because it offers a great deal of creative freedom along every step of the process from exposure to printing. In terms of pure visual enjoyment, black and white provides the beauty of tonal values that so richly express the play of light and shadow – shades of grey and deep blacks and bright whites.
Prints in black and white allow the viewer to focus on forms and textures often overlooked in the real world of color. My goal is to draw the viewer into the photograph to explore the details and to share my point of view.
