While photographing in the Columbia Gorge we had three days of rain. There were times when we couldn’t keep the cameras dry. During the three days of shooting in rain, I had one incident that scared me. My camera quit working! I found a little trick that saved the day and my camera. I went back to the car and started the heater. After removing the battery and memory chips, I held the camera to the heater vents in the car for about 45 minutes. Slapped the memory cards in along with the battery and it worked! It’s been almost a year now and I have not had any problems with the camera.
Best advice: Keep your gear DRY!
